Senator Tim Scott (R-SC) would like to offer his congratulations to the 2018 Angels in Adoption award recipient, Mr. Dan Walters of Greenwood, SC. Senator Scott has requested that Mr. Walters be recognized in the U.S. Congressional Record. 

Mr. Walters has truly opened up his heart and home through his exceptional service for children in the foster care system. Since entering the foster care program, Mr. Walters has fostered fifteen children, provided long term care for three children, and also adopted one child. Sen. Scott had the pleasure of working with one of those children through his congressional internship program, and he credits Mr. Walters for giving him a “second chance at life”. He truly has made an incredible difference in the lives of many foster youth.

Mr. Walters is an outstanding example of a foster parent, and Sen. Scott applauds him on his continued commitment and compassion towards helping foster care children.
