Nelson Mullins’ John Hagerty Elected to Lead Regional Development Alliance

The Charleston Regional Development Alliance has elected John B. Hagerty, a partner in Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP’s Charleston, S.C. office, as its chairman for a two-year-term.
Hagerty has long been involved in the Charleston-area community, including in not-for-profit work, economic development, and preservation. He is a member of the Board of Directors of Spoleto Festival USA, an annual 17-day performing arts festival in Charleston. He formerly chaired the Board of Directors of the Patriots Point Development Authority, which oversees development and operation of a golf course, hotels, the U.S. Medal of Honor Museum, and the Yorktown Aircraft Carrier in Mt. Pleasant, S.C.
His practice focuses on the areas of corporate and real estate law. Hagerty regularly counsels clients on corporate management, as well as contract development and drafting. He has represented start-up companies and innovators at every stage, from establishing a corporation to developing employment agreements, establishing employee stock option plans, and negotiating leases.
